The Lighting in Ultima Thule was always a little bit dark due to the nature of the place, so a strong contrast is to be expected. However, when I played this part of the MSQ with an alt with a darker skin tone, dark green hair and glam with various middle tones, she was often quite in the dark but still somewhat visible before 7.0 dropped. Now the glowy bubbles from the "Sneak" fishing skill are the only things telling me where she is around the Nekropolis, unless she wears her mostly white White Mage glam, but even then it's fairly dark.
It's especially irritating in the cutscenes of the Allied Society quests, when half of the characters in a conversation are barely visible.
Some screenshots:
My character in the darkness in that area:
Same glam but a lighter part of the area, where you can see her well, if she faces the light:
Same area as first screenshot but with a white glam:
And the cutscene from the quest I mentioned:
If she'd be a Lala and her head with the long ears wouldn't poke out of the scenery, one wouldn't think she would even be in the scene at all. (Until she steps into the light that is.)
Comparison with a part where they are in the light of the café (sort of):
I can't imagine doing the MSQ part where you have to search the area now, when you can barely see yourself..
Please tweak it a little bit!
