Before ffxiv, I have never touched an MMO before and the thought of playing such an old game kinda turned me off. Butt hearing so many great things about and wanting to try an MMO for the first time I gave it a shot. Having just gotten through the post ARR slog of content I can say that I am extremely glad I picked the game up. The community is so nice and helpful 95% of the time and love to help new people out.
I found the game to be quite boring at the start but I guess that's just the nature of MMOs when you have so few skills and not much to do besides the MSQ. I starting having a lot more fun when trying extreme trials after the main story and when I switched to Red Mage for my job which I enjoy a lot and I can't wait to try more Jobs as well.
While the post ARR content can certainly be a slog that last long sequence of cutscenes really made up for the past few days of running back and forth from the waking sands. I can wait for what comes after as people say the expansions are REALLY good which is exciting. Hopefully, I can catch up before the next big content update as that would be cool to be apart of as I have never done that in an MMO. I can't wait till I get to the endgame where I can try doing stuff like using glamors, getting a house (although I heard that's hard), and joining an FC.
Don't know how to end this I just wanted to share my thoughts on the game so I guess I will end it by saying thanks for being a great community and yeah... that's it!
