I've been playing for some years now in the game, but recently interested in high end content. Looking at the way for players to earn the gear I simply thought the system looks old and could be adjusted for player management.
Issues:
· Enhancing gear is locked only for Alliance Raid/Hunts.
· Lack of player management regarding gear and building of a character. (Changing role is hard without throwing away all the time spent into gearing the character).
· Entering in mid season/tier is harder for those who didn't start when the season started.

Solutions:
1. Increasing the weekly cap by the same amount.
Explanation: The cap exists for people not rush the content and the gearing power not being a problem. There is still a problem that people entering late into the tier won't be up to date with the gearing. Increasing the cap means the player can get the same chances as any other player. If the tiers are extended since endwalker introduced a patch pathing longer, it means the player needs less time to get the progress (in terms of item level). When the Alliance Raid is in place, the ilvl granted in AR will be higher and the tomestomes gear can be upgraded for those who doesn't do savage raids. Tier endures 8 months but any player who wants to gear will have atleast 2 months to do so.
2.Changing the currency for a piece slot that has been bought once.
Explanation: Changing role would be much easier if you could just buy the same piece slot for the previous tomestome used on it. Why wouldn't you change your role if you want it? It wouldn't be so easy to gear all your jobs because you would still need to grind a lot of tomestomes to do so.
3. Weekly increase the Blade cap of last floor (NM) and remove it after week 8.
Explanation: If for design they want to keep the 7 week lock for the weapons to be bought, just adapt the weekly cap for anyone to have the same chances. Removing it after week 8 since it wouldn't matter, as everyone could have atleast 1 weapon, it wouldn't mater for those who bears more roles.
4. Better Gear Enhance (or atleast, easier)
Explanation: Same as previous points. Once Alliance Raid is release it could be possible to enhance the gear (if it is like always). Just add the enhancing mat at 1,5k regular tomestomes. It would be easier for everyone. There will be AR, there will be hunts. It wouldn't hurt if you could just buy it with tomestomes too.

I've many more ideas of how it could be better than now, but I think those I've redacted suit better the vision of the team and it would greatly improve the QoL for players have some management and freedom regarding gearing.
