I was excited to see Square announce an updated launcher for Mac Catalina. I purchased FFXIV for Mac last month, but got a refund due to the launcher issues. After seeing the update, I repurchased the game today but am having the exact same problems.
I downloaded the installer from the link in my purchase email. When I first launched the game, I got stuck in a repetitive loop of "extracting update" and "verifying." I changed my Privacy and Security settings to give FFXIV accessibility, full disk, and files and folders access. I restarted my Mac.
Now when I launch FFXIV, nothing happens. The program appears in my Force Quit as "not responding." This is exactly as it was behaving before the launcher update.
I'm on a 2016 MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.1. (2 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8 GB memory).
