First Class Question

Hey all!

So I'm a fresh player and deciding on a first class.

I know you can be every job at one character, but as I'm VERY casual the journey to level cap will be long for me which is why I want to enjoy it as much as possible and I'll be doing some max lvl content as far as casuals can do before going for a second job probably, so I'd like to focus at one job for the beginning to explore this brand new world! :)

I NEVER play melee classes because I despise the playstyle of it and ranged physical I also rarely play, so it's down to either healer/suppport or casters.

I intend to play a dps caster which leaves me with either BLM or SMN. I do know that SMN automatically levels SCH aswell, but I don't care very much for this.

I do like the straight off burst dps casters way more than I like the ones who use dot as a primary resource in their rotation because I'm terrible at maintaining dots in other games, like really, really terrible. That and I've heard (please don't shoot me for talking about stuff I've researched without actually playing it yet) that SMN has a very long rotation. And I know myself that maintaining dots (which I don't know how much I'll have to swap mobs to apply dots when I have the Dot spreading skills?) and I fear executing such a long rotation will be a hard feat for me.

And even though moving while casting to most might be a bliss, it's a curse to me since I have a really hard time both casting and moving as I grew up playing games with static combat (Runescap and Silkroad Online) for most of my youth. Add moving with a heavy rotation and my brain can't simply combine those two actions..

I've heard that BLM has a hard time because you need to know the fight beforehand, but this'll mostly apply to savage contenct (which I don't know how hardcore you have to be to reach, so might be I'll never do it lol).

So between these two, would you think someone would have a harder time positioning as a BLM or a harder time doing the 'tedious' SMN rotation while constantly moving out of harm's way?
