I was trying to install FFXIV on a new PC. However, I can't even get the setup file to run, with the error message as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:...SY XIV - A Realm Reborn\Tempinstaller\ffxivinstaller.exe
Abnormal program termination
I have tried multiple ways for troubleshooting but NONE of this has worked:
- update windows to the latest version
- re-download the setup exe file from the official website
- use a different account to log in to my computer
- updated to the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++
- uninstalled and re-installed Microsoft Visual C++
- disable OneDrive
- reset the computer
- try to start ffxivsetup.exe with no other programs running on my computer
I now have no idea what is going on... Please help. Thank you!
