Hello everyone !
Today is a cool day, a day that I've been waiting for since several weeks now: Teamcraft 6.0 is OUT.
Wait, wait, what's Teamcraft again?
FFXIV Teamcraft (aka TC), is a set of tools for FFXIV Players, it includes a database (with items, monsters, fates, maps, quests, actions, traits, effects, etc), a realtime crafting list system, a crafting simulator with rotation sharing and helpers for multiple things in the game (Recipe finder based on ingredients, levequests planner, currency spending, macro translation, log completion tracking, etc).
What's new in 6.0
If you haven't seen it, you might want to take a look at "What to expect in Teamcraft 6.0", an article I wrote few days ago.
Here is a TL;DR version of what's new, I'll go over details below.
If you want to know how packet capture is done in TC, check the wiki page: Packet Capture
Before we get started, please keep in mind that Packet capture is only available on Desktop app.
In order to make Teamcraft easier to use for everyone, I wanted to find a way to automatically input progression as you obtain items. In order to do this, I added packet capture capabilities to Teamcraft.
However, Packet capture is disabled by default, because even if tools like ACT are tolerated, we don't have an official statement regarding TC's packet capture so you have to enable it if you want to use it, Teamcraft will stay ToS-compliant by default. That being said, unless you tell everyone ingame that you're reading packets, this cannot be detected by the game.
But this will allow for a lot of new features in future versions, like inventory optimization, fish stats gathering (an Open source alternative to ff14angler.com with an open API), and more...
Oh, and last but not least: you can enable and disable packet capture and Universalis contribution in the settings page.
What's next?
Using the data that will be gathered, I'll add more data about % rates on reduced items and possibly desynth too. I'm also thinking about possible QS % success rate calculator and more...I'm currently chatting with someone in order to make guide videos that will be published on the Teamcraft channel, they'll be small videos covering a feature of the app in order to get you started, please look forward to ittm.
Thanks to the amazing company I recently started working at, I get a full day with nothing else to do but update Garlandtools, XIVAPI and Teamcraft on big patch days. This means that 5.1 data should be available during the 29th on these three tools. Please thank Zenika for this unique opportunity
One last thing
I want to thank everybody that helped me with this, the new feature was a good way for me to get in touch with more community devs and they were kind and helpful, as usual. Kudos to karashiiro, goat, the Sapphire team, my super cool mods team and all the testers that tested the app day after day, with annoying bugs to reproduce, to make sure that you, the users, will have the best experience with this.
Big thank you to all my patreon supporters and to all the users, you're the reason why this project exists and lives, never forget this.

Here is a TL;DR version of what's new, I'll go over details below.
- [Desktop] Automated list filling (demo: https://streamable.com/csy33).
- [Desktop] Automated stats filling (demo: https://streamable.com/bkfku).
- [Desktop] Full inventory tracking, easily find if you have an item and where, without using /isearch for each item (demo: https://i.imgur.com/zhMno2z.png)
- [Desktop] New inventory page to track your inventories and estimate their value using Universalis.
- [Desktop] Universalis marketboard data contribution.
- [Desktop] Automated stats gathering to find % rates of stuff like Quick synth and Reduction/Desynth results.
- List size in database has been reduced by around 80%.
- List updates are now atomic (two users editing the same list at the same time won't overwrite each other's changes).
- 5.0 data is now available for chinese language, thanks to TaoXi's amazing work.
- Various bug fixes and UI/UX improvements, see full changelog for more details.
