FFXIV Purchase Advice Needed: PS5 Full Game vs Mac Expansion - Region Lock & Account Linking Issues

Hello fellow Warriors of Light,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma and could use some advice from the community. I've played FFXIV on Mac with a SquareEnix NA account up until Endwalker, but I'm considering switching to PS5. However, I'm facing some complications and I'm not sure which route to take.

Current Situation:

• Played on Mac up to Endwalker with a SE NA account
• Own a PS5, but FFXIV isn't available in my region (Malaysia)
• Have two PSN accounts: US region and MY region
• Downloaded free trial on US region PSN with a new SE NA account

My Dilemma:

1. If I buy the full game on PS Store (US region):
   • Can I play it with my MY region PSN account?
   • Can I link my original Square Enix account (NA region) to my MY region PSN account to continue my progress?
2. If the above isn't possible:
   • I'd need to unlink the new Square Enix account from my US PSN (2-week wait, might be rejected)
   • Risk having a game I can't play

Considerations:

• PS5 version seems better for TV play and using PS Remote Play on any device
• No need to worry about Mac OS/hardware compatibility
• Concerned about licensing and account linking issues

What would you advise? Should I:

A) Buy the full game for PS5 and navigate the potential account issues?

B) Stick with Mac and just purchase the latest expansion?

Any insights, especially from those who've dealt with region lock or account transfer issues, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
