FF13 for Xbox 360

I nearly had a heart attack when the announcement came out because the site I was watching said "exclusively for Xbox360." It was only 10-15 minutes later that they corrected it to say it would be on both. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. >_<

I'm disappointed in the decision, just like with SE's choice to release The Last Remnant for Xbox360 this year but the PS3 version next year. The Playstation has been the best system for RPGs for ages, but so far the PS3 lineup has been laughable (Oblivion excepted). At least Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles (just noticed this game last week) are on the way.

I understand why SE would do this, but it makes it harder when called on to justify your console choice. Not that we should have to, but I've had people push me to do just that. :P

Edit: Woohoo, 1000th post!!! =^.^=

We should start a pool on how many DVDs they'll need to hold FF13. I don't really care since I have both systems, but I'll definitely import the JP PS3 version if that comes out ahead of the US versions... I tend to prefer PS3 versions of games when I have a choice anyway since the batteries in my 360 controllers seem to die almost as fast as I can change them in and out.

JP PS3 version will definitely be out before any of the US versions. I'm still predicting next year for Japan, but while I thought we'd get it by the end of the year, I'm now thinking 2010. 2010... that's just scary. >:P

I also am curious about how many discs the Xbox version will use. They might have to cut back on resolution, cutscene detail, and/or audio features to chop it down to size. I'm going to guess 3 discs: one to be installed on the hard drive and two story discs. If they can't rely on a hard drive being available, it'll be 4.

The rechargeable battery packs you can buy for the 360 controllers are nice. It comes with a cable that plugs into the usb port on the 360 and charges the battery while you play also. Kinda like how PS3 works. Sucks that you have to buy it instead of it coming with your 360 but its a nice addtion and saves you money instead of having to buy double A's all the time.

That is really awesome, I never knew about those. They're not too expensive either, unlike the rip-off wireless adapter which is another feature the PS3 comes with built-in... lol.
We have cats, so any batteries that happen to be within their Cat Range immediately get batted around until they are lost beyond all hope of recovery (the same thing happened with a USB drive attached to a lanyard that I "used" to have... I wish I could find that damn thing).

Squeenix wants the money. That's the only reason I can think of for making FF13 multiplatform. Even then, given the scope of past projects, I picture 10 friggen DVDs to install, if not more.

well im stoked, only got the xbox360 and wasnt willing to buy the ps3 for FF13.

What he said. I bought my battery packs the same day I bought my 360 and it's been great... i knew immediately that the rechargable batteries would be a big benefit right away. They should have included them with the 360 to begin with.

They ARE a company, by the way. Not a non-for-profit organization. Of COURSE thats why they're doing it; is there any other incentive? Lol.

That being said, they're not releasing it on XB360 in JP, so thats another 'only for the $$$' indicator. I'll prolly still buy a PS3, as I'm liking the look of FF13 Versus more than 13 itself /shrug
