Greetings.
Obviously I came here mostly to complain, but I wish to point out what was expecting a very big congregation of players when they first heard of the new cross-world system.
My speech can be jumbled pretty badly since I am not a native speaker, but I will try my hardest to convey the feelings of me and my many friends who were crushed by the absence of what we hoped to get.
Let me first say, that for non-english speakers it's very hard to find each other. The game itself is not very popular on our turf since you have to know the language at least a little, so the information is scattered across unpopular forums and close communities and to find it you have to find them. You can't simply type the question in Goggle and find the answer, cuz there would be none. Of course, the English database is vast and helpful, but to get the mechanics and specifics one must know the language better than "a little".
So yeah, we are scattered across the discord servers, across the data-centers and worlds inside the DCs. We can try and connect through the discord, but again, a lot of lesser Free Companies and communities would be lost because of the absence of the common link.
Then YoshiP decided to make life easier and give us something akin to Alliances, and we were at first celebrating the news. Like, how awesome is that? We will be able to link all guilds, all little FC through the game itself. The players would be able to open the Fellowship Finder, type the symbols and see their language, see a crossword community of people from their turf! They will be able to find their place quickly, to get help and feel like a part of the greater picture.
But in reality, FS turned out to be much more useless than we anticipated.
You can't see the guild to which a member belongs. You can't see the class, you can't see the level. You do not have chat - you have only a message board (we hoped it would be somehow helpful but no, we were wrong again) - you do not get a reminder every time as someone posts something on the Message Board. Yes, we were able to give admin rights to every guild leader who joined our little idea of uniting the players in-game, but you can't even sort the list to that said admins could be seen at the very top.
How is it even remotely useful to unite the players if the main problem wasn't solved at all? We still can't communicate in-game freely, we still have to search each other by pure luck. A new player still can't open the Finder and then type a question, he will have to wait for someone to notice his message at the Message Board. And how much time will it take without notifications?
Many newbies quit the game cuz there is no one to guide them. To catch a message in the city chat is a blessing - not everyone is quite as lucky. We were hoping to increase our numbers with the new FS system, but we've got instead something unfinished and unusable. Instead of FC cross-world Alliance, we've got just something, in the purpose of which I'm not sure at all. What was the point, truly, to add such a feature?
I truly hope for the devs team to somehow... make it better. To make it work. To change something, to add something, make it a usable tool, not the grim parody of what we could have had.
Please, share your opinions on the matter. Are we asking for too much? Are we wrong? Are FS were simply a cruel joke or it is our naivety? I thank you for your time.
