I haven't enjoyed the normal mode for raiding since at least Stormblood. Endwalker in paticular it felt like it was just being designed for people who didn't want to be there to get out as quickly as possible, to which I think people like that should just get a combat skip option: if you can never be bothered, it shouldn't come at the expense of others.
The normal mode is still not really *hard* but they have a good level of tension now, they also really press a good mix of mechanics at a good pace that really helps you learn the basics of your job flow for other content, this is something the game didnt really have before, IMO.
I really enjoy this middle level of difficulty, it's like you can pop in and make sense of 95% of the mechanics just on visual cues but still leave feeling accomplished and just taxed enough.
