TO THE GMS:

This current business of throwing RPers in GM jail and giving out Warnings, Suspensions, and Bans based on Party Finder information is not only wrong, but works towards alienating a devoted fanbase that calls Final Fantasy 14 their second home.

My in game name is Kenda Arethusas, and I was just recently released from GM jail and am completely disappointed with the interaction I had with the GM in question. As we all know, many of these complaints began with GM Wyndallus, but I am sad to see that the other GMs are not doing their due diligence to allow us players to fully know what is happening and why we are being punished.

This is the interaction I had with a GM just a little while ago:

As you can see, I did not get answers. I was not allowed to speak with a SGM. I was told that I am not allowed to know the specifics of why I was receiving this warning. And frankly, this is beyond unacceptable.

In both this chat interaction and in the follow-up email I received from Square (found here: https://pasteboard.co/JPMiYKT.jpg ) I was told that I should "use my best judgement" and remember that people of all ages play this game. Yes, that is true, and yes, I do always try to use my best judgement when posting things publicly in game. However, I find it interesting that my infraction was labeled under "Profanity and Offensive Language". The Party Finder post in question said this: [E/RP 18+, LGBTQ Friendly] Dragon's Den is OPEN! Start your week with STRIPle Triad, cold drinks, & hot dancers. [Venue Location]". How is this profane or offensive? I was told that could not be explained to me.

If Square wants to persecute the RP community, a community who spends a not inconsequential amount on the mogstation, then why allow us to have the RP symbol above our heads? The RP tag is explicitly listed as "search Info". Why is that not allowed in conjunction with Party Finder? Why allow us to tag our homes as Roleplay and Venue? Why is advertising for these in game things unacceptable? Why was I placed in jail with a GM who was dressed like an Ascian for RP things when this in and of itself is RP!

Why does Square then not offer a fully roleplay server, like other MMOs do? Why are those of us put into jail not given a case number or allowed to know the exact reason why we were thrown into jail? Why is advertising an RP venue worse than those selling end game content runs? Why are we not allowed to know the policy the GMs use in order to decide if someone has broken Terms of Service? Why can we not appeal the jailing and be free from GM jail while the appeal is happening? I spent almost 3 hours today in jail. Why are we not being heard and treated with respect?

I cannot imagine Square makes an inconsequential amount of money from RP in game. Between glams, fantas, furniture, emotes, Eternal Bonding, etc. the RP community provides a hefty, HEFTY amount of financial gain to Square Enix. I love this game. It's the only thing I play. I've met my best friend in this game through RP. I've made incredible friends through RP. And the only way I was ever able to start finding RP venues to go to was through the Party Finder. It's easy for new players who want to get involved. It's visible if you want to see it and easy to ignore if you don't. And like myself, I'm sure there are countless people who some of the best times they have in this game are when they are RPing with the very real friends and loved ones they have met through it. So money aside, which, again, I know is not a small amount, and Square would be foolish to deny that source of revenue by doing this to its roleplayers, but the connections, the people who make this game what it is, are being hurt by this. Is that truly what you want?

I urge anyone and everyone effected by this mass scale RP to respond to this thread so Square and the GMs can see how many people this effects, and also receive the "feedback" they seem to so desperately crave yet ignore.
