I don't usually post on the forums (mainly because I just don't have the energy most of the time to put my opinion out there, partly because I don't think it would change anything) but I'm seeing a LOT of misguided criticism of the new content in Dawntrail, especially when it comes to the new dungeons that have released with the newest expansion.

The new dungeons are fine, they are harder than dungeons that we've had in recent memory, but this does not make them too hard for ALL players to complete them. I think a lot of this criticism comes from the fact people are afraid of failure when it comes to content in this game, understanding everyone is not able to do things first try, and aren't as familiar with mechanical tells throughout the game is understandable. All this to say, dying is not the end of the world when you die in a dungeon, or a story trial.

The real problem that you have is that Final Fantasy XIV does not tutorialise and teach their players well enough to where players reaction to pushback is to complain things are too difficult when you can't beat them the first time. I can guarantee that, especially with the new trust system, you have the perfect opportunity to enjoy the game at your own pace while having the ability to learn how to play the game, with the often repeated mechanics that the game throws at you from the very beginning of ARR to the most current expert dungeons.

All this to say, you can get through Dawntrail. You may have to make some uncomfortable changes to how you play, but it is possible. I have died plenty of times to the dungeons, especially the expert dungeons, this expansion, and I do hardcore content such as week 1 savage and dabbled in ultimate. You are not alone, and the hardest of hardcore players still fail during "casual" content like this and it is fine. Dying, wiping and failing is a part of videogames, and you have to understand failing is part of the experience.

If you want to get better, or advice, there are a TON of players who will be more than happy to help you, either through party members in your instances, youtube videos, guides etc. to make your experience better. Understanding that FFXIV is ultimately a team game means that there will be expectations of you, and there will be rude players who lash out at your level of play, but understand that there is no reason for this to discourage you from trying to play the game, enjoying the parts you enjoy, and getting through the myriad amazing stories that Final Fantasy XIV has to offer.
