The Cult of the Goby [GOBY!] is currently looking for new members for our FC and gaming community. We are a somewhat small group looking to get new blood to play FF14 and other games with. We count as middle core as we like doing all the content at our own paces and don’t stress about completing new content unless we feel like it (we’re pretty lax and chill about this stuff).
-We are seeking new members that are 18+ years of age and really don’t have any other requirements.
-What we look for most in members is sticking around to stay for the fun. Skill, ability, ect, is not necessary, just those who want to aid in the chaos and fun.
-We try to stay away from drama but address any pressing issues at hand so as not to let issues boil and break over.
What we offer in return is a community of lunatics who seek out chaotic fun and try to find new things to enjoy together. We also assist in helping out lower levels with instructions, equipment, and supplies. We also have a large mansion to congregate in for hijinks and fun! Visit us at Plot 5 - Ward 16 of the Mist.
What we hope to gain are new members who stick around and show up to join in the fun. As life goes on, the hours each member appears on decreases, so more members means there are more people to round up for some fun in FF14 events or other games.
We DO have a discord, and will invite new members after they join. Apply in game - just look up our FC to view our information and submit an application (you'll be added post-haste) or visit our plot, again, at Ward 16, Plot 5 in the Mist.
Now that the “business side” is done, here’s the better description of us -
We’re crazy., we’re zany, and we do lots of games even though FF14 is the core game we play. New members are needed so we have more people to do content, create events, and just have different personalities to enjoy being around. We want new members who are compatible with us and stick around, and basically someone we can all become friends with. I myself need more people to help poke and prod me to produce content as I run a youtube channel that provides FF14 tutorials (it WAS for machinima and jokes related to our FC, but NOBODY watches that…). I sometimes make machinima videos on members with jokes I feel driven to tell but don't expect to get famous, only a few dozen watch the jokes I make.

Cult of the Goby is named after a joke when a striped goby was caught a good luck occurred, it became a running gag and then obviously only a mystical greater goby could be the cause of such fortune, thus the Cult of the Great Goby became the big thing for us to chant about. This is our persona that we use as a joke, are we roleplayers? No, not really, we just take on a role as cultists following the designs of an oversized fish except that no one speaks fish.
Who doesn’t want to dress in cultist robes and try to coerce people to join in follows the orders of an unintelligible giant fish?
