The new crafting system changed a bunch of things, from a streamlining of crafting for all classes, to the change of synthesis from 90% to 100% accuracy. These changes have rendered crafting easier and less daunting for sure, but in my honest opinion (I had only reached lvl 38 max), seems to have simplified it too. Before, you basically were really encouraged to go omnicrafter to get the right cross-skills to ease the crafting; now you can just pick whichever and level it as you please since every class has the same skills in the same order.
Secondary part, the XP boost. XPing crafters is not way faster. Like, by an enormous margin. The time it takes to XP a crafter has been considerably reduced; do you think that 'cheapens' the crafting?
The same questions might also apply to gatherers, but I did not up them before so I have no idea if stuff changed.
