It's like a mini-spirits within. I'd be curious to see how many HP Katsuma had at the time he did that.

Also it's possible that the standard x3 damage that all relic weapons seem to have could proc for the add. effect, I am not sure if that happens to be honest just throwing it out there.

Unfortunately 854 isn't divisible by 3, so that's not it.

I know Qutrub in general take double damage from a lot of things. Wait until you exp on them by Dvucca Isle Staging Point and you do a Light chain for 3000, you'll see what I mean. It also ignores defense, and 420ish is pretty standard for additional effect from Excalibur. I'm guessing that what happened is that even though the mob is insanely strong, since it ignores defense it registered as a 420ish hit, and then since it was a Qutrub it proced for over 800. Still pretty fucking hilarious though.

It would seem that he had 1822 or 1823 HP at that time Garret.
(15/32) x 1822 = 854.0625
(15/32) x 1823 = 854.5312

That is if that is how it's calculated for the additional effect (the same as Spirits Within?), and I think that's the theory so far.

15/32 is of course at 300%.

854 is however divisible by 2.
854 / 2 = 427

I have seen that relic weapons tend to do either 2-3 times normal damage from several sources.

In that case, if the 300% 15/32 rule stands through for the additional effect, he could have had:
(15/32) of 911 = 427.0312
(15/32) of 912 = 427.5
(15/32) of 913 = 427.9687

And simply had a double damage proc. 911-913 HP seems more reasonable for what I've seen him wearing, especially under besieged conditions.

In the end,

My bard does 1005 Spirits Within.

I win, the end.

Spirits Within requires TP This happens regularly, and without TP. He wins :)

dam, that is hot:bfg:

I don't see what's confusing. Normal excalibur add effect procs for 1/4 current HP yes? So this is that double damage you mentioned above.

Nothing's confusing. :) I just posted it because it made me go OMGWTF in real life when I saw it happen.
