I haven’t seen this in any other guide. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I see lots of people struggle with Castrum swords. Here’s a foolproof, 100 percent effective guide to it. This has been tested in my over 50 runs of Castrum so far and I am totally confident in it.
TL;DR: Forget about West Wall swords. They don’t affect where you should be going AT ALL. Pay attention only to East wall and boss swords while looking at the lines to see where you should go.
First. Forget the second set of swords. Set 2 will always drop west wall. ALWAYS. Forget about.
Sword 1 can drop in either the middle (boss) or along East wall.
If set 1 drops East Wall with an X marker, North and South walls are safe. Stand away from set 1 to allow them to explode and then move into the safe spot created by that explosion. At this point you should be standing in NE/SE corner. Set 3 (boss) will explode, allowing you to continue the fight.
If Set 1 drops East Wall with + marker, boss sword will be safe. Stand on the Southeast most sword and wait for the East wall swords to explode. Then move to the safe area created by the first explosion. At this point you should be standing in SE corner. The boss swords will then explode, allowing you to continue.
If set 1 drops by boss with a + marker, then the NE/SE corners will be safe first. Stand in NE/SE corner, wait for boss sword to explode, move back in to continue fight.
If set 1 drops by boss with an X marker. North/South walls will be safe. Let the boss swords explode, move back in to continue the fight.
That’s about it. I can try to make a video if you want me to as well. Like I said above, I’ve run Castrum many times, this hasn’t failed me yet.
