In Alexander, time turns out to be a loop, everything that has happened must happen. Like when Alexander travels back in time three years, appears before the folks with their magic cone, kill most of them and kidnap Mr. Whatshisface leading to Ms. Whatsherface having a reason to help infiltrate Alexander, and so on.

In Shadowbringers G'raha Tia turns out to be from the future, who travels back in time to help prevent the Eighth Umbral Calamity, which he appears to succeed with. This creates a separate timeline where the Eighth Umbral Calamity doesn't happen, which doesn't seem to fall in line with Alexander's version of the flow of time.
