If you want to offer advice to a player, ask. Ask them if they would like to receive advice from you. Wait for their consent. Then, if they say "yes", offer your advice in a constructive and friendly manner. Do not say things like "git gud" or "this is so easy", because to some players that might be offensive.
I had an encounter today where someone said, in an extremely mean-spirited way, "use your cds omg", after 15 minutes of silence in the party chat. Unsolicited advices like these are rarely friendly and they only serve to drive a wedge between the adviser and the advisee. Furthermore, such advice are unhelpful. I don't have any CDs nor do I know what CDs are. And please don't try to offer me advice on CDs as I have no interest in whatever the hell CDs are. As such, I promptly blacklisted the individual offering me unsolicited advice as soon as we finished the dungeon.
I post this with the intention of reminding players that your unsolicited advice are unwelcome and hostile. To this person and many others who like to give such advice, my only message is for you to knock it off. Would you just shut up, man. If you keep yapping when I group up with you next time I will consider it harassment. To people who ask for consent before offering advice, you are what makes this such a great community, by the way. Thank you!
