So, i've had a wild thought ever since 5.4 dropped, and made a realization earlier today.
We all expected the final Weapon to be Diamond Weapon, using Zenos' combat data as a template. But the cutscene at the end of the emerald quest kind of threw a wrench in that idea ; Valens doesnt want to use some beast he can't even control. That leaves the question: who is going to be the lucky garlean to be used for the 5.5 boss fight ?
Well Emerald just showed us that living Legatus are fair game since it used Gaius' data despite him being very much alive. Thus I propose the 5.5 boss will be none other than Valens himself. After all, who better than himself to accomplish his vision?
But that's not all. I also propose that we won't be fighting Diamond weapon. See, after rewatching the cutscenes and comparing the color scheme of Valens' armor, I think there's a much better candidate.
Chaos.
Not FF1 Chaos, that we fought in Alphascape.
FF7 Chaos, Vincent's final transformation. Who happens to be a demi-weapon.
Case and point, his armor has the exact same color scheme. Even down to the glowing blue lights.
I rest my case.
