Up to this point there has been a precedent that short hairstyles for Miqo'te are modified to account for their lack of human ear placement.
This has not been the case for the recently added "Controlled Chaos" style, which leaves an awkward bald patch where their ears are not.
The longer hair is also still tucked behind a nonexistent ear, though presumably that would be a lot more work to adapt.
This affects both male and female characters.
