I guess I'm the hundreth post about coming back to the game since the start of the quarantine but I couldn't find the exact answers to my multiple questions...
I played during Stormblood but just until lv54.
I really enjoyed the game but was discouraged by the MASSIVE amount of questing I had to do to access end game content. If it was just the main story quest I would have been okay with that but having to do raid tiers that were not relevent anymore was too much. I queued for raids that were outdated and steamrolled by players and I felt like I was just standing there waiting for the raid to clean itself.
When I finaly arrived in Heavensward I was happy but didn't want to do all this things again at the end of the expac before going to Stormblood...
It was my main issue. It felt more like gated content than anything and I really felt an halt to my progession.
Is the game still that tedious for a new player ? It's really the only thing that pushed me out of the game...
My other question would be : Should I start a new character if I go back to the game ? Getting back on a half leveled character might be quite confusing. But if I have to do EVERYTHING again it's just not worth it.
I know you can pay to skip past expacs, but I don't have enough money to put in only one game right now (Sub + Shadowbringer + skip would be way too much for me right now).
