I understand SE is adding mechanic visuals to the Hall of the Novice.
I think there are a lot more that can be added.
Maybe a short test for when you hit max level with every class per expansion to get used to the new skills would be good to have as well.

Here are a few things I thought of, having observed mid to high level players in group content over the years as well as after reminiscing the days when I was new.
Do you have anything to add? Or perhaps my ideas are bad? What are your thoughts?

Tanks:
  • Using defensive skills properly
  • Using Reprisal and Arms-length
  • Using invulnerability skills
  • Using combo attacks

Healers:
  • Using cooldowns
  • Using damage skills, while also healing
  • Using better/upgraded spells instead of Cure/Physick/Benefic/Diagnosis
  • Mana management, as a addendum of the point above
  • The different philosophies between heal (reactive) and shield (proactive) healers
  • Using Esuna (DT healer role-quest does this but it needs to be a LOT sooner)

DPSes:
  • Using combo attacks
  • Using positional attacks
  • Using cooldowns
  • Reinforce explanations for class gimmicks, especially for NIN, SAM, BLM and RDM
  • Using Feint, Addle and ranged phys defensives
