I've started entertaining the idea of changing my character's name, but he's married and I want to know whether his name on his wife's ring will change to reflect it or not. I've seen a few posts throughout this subreddit that say "yes", but also a topic where someone said that it didn't. Their rings are from back in 2015, which is the year I was actually married in real life, so I'd rather not turn the rings in to redo the ceremony and get 2024 on them.
Does it, or does it not, change? Or does it depend on some variable, such as whether the name was changed via renaming service vs. forced rename by TOS violation, or if the bonding was performed before or after a particular patch, &c. I understand the ring to still work despite a name change, so it seems strange that it wouldn't update on the rings.
