I recently earned the Valia Pira card and I asked myself why I was collecting these? I suppose I know the answer - because I have to collect them all. But this card belongs to a forgettable rock.
It seems like all dungeons must drop a card. And this card must be a boss or common enemy from that dungeon. But strict adherence to rules like these make for boring cards. Patch 7.2 introduces a new trial which is fought immediately after the dungeon; so Valia Pira is immediately overshadowed by Zelenia. Nothing wrong with that. But if this is the design intent then why was Valia Pira selected for a card?
Consider instead: Shale. She's probably not going to be a very memorable or long-lasting character in the story. But she does have voice acted lines in this dungeon. This could have also been the place to create a Calyx card. I'm not asking for Shale or Calyx cards, but they would have been objectively better choices.
Looking back at my collection should feel a bit like looking at the Unending Codex. But there's no G'raha Tia card (somehow), no Zero or Erenville, and there probably won't be a Gulool Ja card either. Again I'm not asking for cards of these characters specifically. I'm just saying that because of the rigid and predictable rules for how Triple Triad cards are designed, there will never be an opportunity to give these characters one.
