Kanican, who did the great analysis of enmity starting around a year ago, has posted a blog entry about the BLM and SCH Mythic weapons. Based on this analysis, SE has failed yet again when it comes to mage weapons. >
Quick summary: M.attack doesn't scale the same way that the HQ staves' +15% damage does, and if you already have a fair amount of M.attack, the HQ staves will do more damage. For a BLM, you reach that amount with *any* M.attack armor piece.
And that's not even talking about the staves' M.accuracy....
