This is not a rage post, this is a suggestion post.
I am a 1.0 player, and I would like to see this previous feature, added back to the command list.
("I am a 1.0 player" means I am 100% aware of all the current ways to blacklist people. I also am experienced in the general behavior and common trends among the average player across many spectrum's of the games levels.)
The blacklist feature was changed (likely due to the new world visit system) so that it is currently not possible to use /blist add "Persons Name"
Please add this feature back in. Simply add the tag "Persons Name@Worldname"
example:
/blist add "Persons Name@Worldname"
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Additional information, and thoughts.
The current community is not encouraged for group effort, teamwork, patience, or any degree of respect.
With the access to Square-Enix direct RMT, buying level boosts, and story boosts, which offer gil, and other instant rewards, players do not know their jobs, just press buttons, get instant gratification for every reward. Also important to note, anything worthwhile is either added in a 15 minute (or less) quest, or the mog station. This even goes as far as rewards from extremely difficult content (White Raven earrings as one example.)
This means players can act as they please, get everything they desire simply from just buying it.
Players who stay subscribed, actually are at a disadvantage. The only "perk" to staying subscribed is you are not at -threat- of losing housing, something that takes a lot of spamming and encourages selfishness.
In FFXIV's current state it is actually more advantageous to play as little as possible, and reap rewards further down the line. There are no in game rewards, or encouraging mechanics or features in place that reward veteran players, or long term subscribers. Even the veteran rewards system was cut and reduced, to allow any fresh newcomer to obtain all items instantly.
The only system in place that rewards any kind of persistent effort, is the mentor system, which is also backwards. As a mentor myself I see numerous mentors instantly leave extreme primal battles, and there is no simple way to report them, and have their mentor status challenged or revoked.
Please carefully consider features and options to encourage teamwork, and good behavior. If not, please add features to combat the ever increasing crude players.
... Further notes, the commendation system, is not a feature that encourages this either. I now see players asking for commendations after battle. I now believe I will stop giving commendations until either these types of systems are more intricately enhanced, or I come across players who exhibit profound respect and dignity. Yes, this means I will forfeit the gil and exp reward, as thats all the system is now to most players, just more rewards for nothing. Thank you.
