FFXIV is my first MMO ever, a friend suggested it to me because they said I'd probably enjoy the story content. So I got it? And I think I'm enjoying it, however, I'm very much interested in just...the story? I understand that being an MMO some degree of social interaction is required, which is the part I'm struggling with. Everytime I get a quest that reqires me to use the Duty Finder, I get like...a massive rush of anxiety.
I chose Thaumaturge, so I'll eventually become a Black Mage, I guess. So I've been reading about it, and find myself a little (a lot) overwhelmed at the rotations and mechanics that seem to come with being a BLM. Usually, I wouldn't care about stuff like that, but the prospect of being in a party and not knowing what I'm doing/failing my party/being chastised by my party is sort of enough to make me want to stop playing something I think I enjoy.
I've been looking around this sub and I'm wondering if it would be decent to use this as my bible? OR, if anyone has any tips on how to make doing party stuff as a BLM as painless as possible, that'd be wonderful. Another alternative is suggesting a class to me that no one has any expectations of, so that being terrible wouldn't really matter.
