So I have come across information that Ser Aymeric Bot, a widely used bot in FFXIV discords, has a hidden function which serves as a spyware program, recording the chat logs of every channel it has access to and is currently spying on over a million people world wide.
I am not super familiar with coding, however there is an excellent write up about it, which goes into details of its source code, database, and other things which provide evidence for the claim that it essentially spyware.
