And I'm enjoying the hell of FFXIV!
I've always wanted to play since release, but only now I managed to get my hands on it and actually play, and I must say I've never enjoyed an MMO as I'm enjoying this, maybe because I'm a HUGE Final Fantasy fan. Playing as the jobs I'm so familiar with feels so good!
Even though I still didn't finish ARR, I'm already loving the story so far and can't wait to start Heavensward.
The scenarios already captivate me a lot, there's so much to do that sometimes I feel overwhelmed haha, there's this constant fear of f'ing it up during dungeon runs, but also great pleasure* because everyone is so supporting and understands that I'm new and don't know how things work yet (even though I started watching a few run guides so I screw up less and less lol).
There was this AWESOME run on Haukke Manor, it was actually my first run without my group of friends. I fear doing runs with strangers because I fear getting flamed for screwing up, but this guy readily noticed I didn't know how to pull rooms and asked his friends to not rush the dungeon because I was still new (I'm playing Paladin now).
Then they proceeded to do the entire dungeon with me so I could get the map achievement, and also GOD BLESS they taught me how Interject works, how I'd know if I could interrupt a skill or not and etc. I was already managing to do it with Shield Bash sometimes, but their advice changed my gameplay entirely, and for the better.
It was really, really fun, and they waited every cutscene to say a heartily goodbye and welcome me to the game. I've run a few more dungeons with strangers since, and I'm always met with the same awesome experience.
Honestly, I'm really happy to be playing a MMO where the community seems so laid back and supporting. I know there must be some bad apples, as there always are, but I'm so pleased that I couldn't contain myself, had to share it somewhere.
