The new restrictions for travel has made it incredibly hard to get on Balmung, which as I can tell is the only server on Crystal that has this sort of issue. As an ARR player I am fully aware of how populated the server has always been, but when people can't transfer at 10AM EST on Monday, it sucks.
Being part of the RP community has made this even harder. People who have been hosting events for years at their houses aren't able to get attendance because folks can't get on. If I want to meet up with friends, it has to be on their server. The common places to do Walkup RP on Crystal are gone because people can't get on Balmung, and lots of the community hasn't figured out where to go.
And why? Probably for the massive amount of people just AFKing in Ul'dah. After they opened up the servers for a short bit to make characters it feels as if there are even more lv 1 sprouts there emoting in Quicksands. So many tourists who are there just to be part of the Quicksand meme.
Really wish that Square would bring back the timeout mechanic. Even if it was something like 8 hours it might cull the amount of folks just taking up space on a congested server.
