Hello! I just wanted to make an appreciation thread for the team, and the latest patch.
It's a bit late, but I'm not one to rush content.
After finishing the MSQ, Eden raids, and Ruby weapon trial, as well as redecorating our FC house, I can finally take some time to express my thanks. I'm not even close to being done with all the content, still got nier, crafting, fishing, and savage left to do which will take me some time to complete. But I can surely say that this is one of the best patches ever released, and many of my FC mates agree.
The story was good, although I feel like more questions lingered in the end that there were answered, but I've noticed the writers like to use this a lot. I'm really itching to know what's going to happen next.
I like to see characters come back, and show more about themselves. And I always pay attention to little details and I love those 'I knew it!' moments where you suspected something was going to be important later on, and it turns out to be.
I did notice the added animations, and object interactions, which immediately reminded me of my favorite side quest in the game, the Crystal Tower.
I'm digging this better than the emote-like animations that have been used a lot in the past (where the head tilts from side to side while they talk, now you can't unsee).
While I understand it may save time, it makes the story feel less like a movie and kinda repetitive.
The music, well Soken-san keeps outdoing himself. The music feels fresh, and I can't pick my favorite one of the expansion. E8S is just amazing, I get goosebumps everytime I listen to it.
The ruby weapon extreme trial is fun, even if it's easy. And the memes are great.
The stream pre-patch? Amazing! I've been learning japanese so I like to tune in, and in fact I'd love to see that come back.
Not sure if it was done before, but this is the first time I get to see the team live streaming the patch notes when not in a live letter.
Overall, I haven't missed the second dungeon, the quality of the patch went up by a lot.
I got a bit over 10,000 hours according to Steam (yes, some AFK time included lol) and this game has practically become a part of my life. I've made great friends from all over the world.
And with every patch there's this fear of being disappointed to the point where the game bores me. There hasn't been a single time where I've felt like this, and I always find myself happily logging in every day.
I'd like to apologize for any grammar mistakes, my first language is Spanish, but I wanted to express my feelings nonetheless.
And while we're at this, even though this game has no oficial translation, I'm happy to report the hispanic community is growing.
We're scattered throughout multiple servers and datacenters, but the fellowships and CWLS have greatly helped communicate.
This may be obvious, but this is my personal opinion and everyone else may feel different, but for me this patch was great, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Thank you team for your hard work!
Looking forward to San Diego 2020!
