We need three chips to complete our next Proto-Omega set, and I'm convinced we can get them all in one run. I'd like to test your mettle! Next Monday, following Proto-Ultima on Thursday, I'd like to send three groups out to NW, SW and NE Apollyon.
*As shown by Benny, Snuggle and Arien tonight, NW can be easily cleared with 2x BLM and a RDM.
*SW should be clearable by 5: NIN SAM RNG RDM BLM should have no problem clearing if the first and second floor mobs are skipped (ie. open the vortex and ignore the rest).
*NE requires a few more folks due to some chance involved in what drops the chests, but I think 7 people would be a safe win: NIN THF SAM RNG BLM WHM BRD.
Now, to make my case, I'd like to try this for several reasons. First, it's important that I see how few people we really do need for a particular zone. Doing low-man split groups not only gets gear faster, it also typically yields more coins and AF mats overall. Finally, I think it's fun to take on a challenge and succeed. If we do fail, however, it's no real loss because we're sure to complete at least one of the three zones and still make a mint worth of coins.
Food for thought, and feel free to claim a job slot if you know you'll be attending. And of course, as always, anyone from the shell willing to help and make some gil is welcome to attend.
