It’s not just going to be a one off crossover event. This will be in the game forever. It’s not just a tribute to other final fantasy games like othe alliance raids, this is going to attach Nier to FFXIV at the hip. From now on, when you roll your Alliance roulette, Nier is going to be a possibility. If FFXIV lasts another decade, a crossover will remain a core part of the game.
