I'm sort of new to the game, my main is at 80 now, but I'm just 4 quests away from starting Stormblood. I've done Alexander and part of the Alliance raids in HW, but a lot of the level 60 dungeons, Warring Triad, Beast Tribe quests, etc. are still unfinished. I'm the kind of guy who plays side-quests as soon as they unlock in a FF game, and I like being as overpowered as possible through the main story. I realize that style may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's how I roll.
Anyway, I did Binding Coils (Normal) for the story in PF before HW, and I'm glad I did, because it sort of seemed relevant to have that lore in my pocket when doing the story in HW (especially after Baelsar's Wall), and my question is: Is there any parallel to this in Stormblood that I should be aware of as I catch up? Stuff that won't quite make sense without having the appropriate stuff done from HW? (I've pretty much cleared ARR except for beast tribe stories).
I understand rewards for finishing old content are probably no longer relevant in many ways, but for me doing the content is its own reward. I'd slow down and just do it all until there are no more purple markers to be found, but I have a friend playing with me who is anxious to get to end game, so I'm prioritizing.
