Here’s the scenario....
You are a brilliant and talented artisan who is capable of producing the highest quality goods.
You are commissioned for a very pricey piece of gear that requires not only the rarest materials that are often only found in far away hostile lands in which just the journey alone could kill a man, but also requires the skills of a finely disciplined craftsman with the patience to work with delicate material.
Not only are you asked to craft this exquisite gear but you are also expected to either...
a) purchase the materials with your own Gil
b) travel to these far off lands and acquire each material individually assuming you have the skill to do so
c) in rare cases go out and purchase a book with a special form of monopolized currency from an unethical company with the recipe to make commissioned product
As you would imagine this is something only someone very wealthy would commission. Quite possibly only the 1% of Ul’Dah. So what’s your payment?
Maybe 1000 Gil, and a new tool.
