(A rough translation of a Japanese post from @belletff14 on Twitter)
"Must be the times we live in."
Says Aurum Vale Second Boss, Mr. Coincounter, age 42, his sorrow felt in his words. In accordance with the changes in patch 5.3, the 100-Tonze Swing that fell numerous adventurers, his pride, will now have action indicators.
"I have been told from a long time ago: 'Isn't an one-hit kill taking it too far?' But you see, the adventurers hardened their resolve, putting their lives on the line to visit (Aurum Vale). A half-assed attack would only be disrespectful. The answer I personally reached was the no-indicator one-hit kill AoE."
Mr. Coincounter reminisces as he squints his one big eye. His workplace was a trio of negatives: smelly, dirty, and yellow, though he found the work to be rewarding. He swung his mace around with pride, given a responsible position as the Second Boss. He says he remembers every party he annihilated with his favorite mace.
"To see them discussing before the purple line, 'Why did we die? How should we approach this?', made me envious seeing that they were a good party. At times there were adventurers who struggle to beat me and turned toxic. (He laughs.) ...I thought that they were enjoying it, difficulty included..."
It has almost been seven years. With the addition of patches, content has continued to increase, various improvements made for beginners to be able to catch up to those before them without stress.
"Even if an indicator is shown, the range is wide -- It shouldn't be a cakewalk. I'll continue to do my best for the adventurers, including the upcoming sprouts."
Mr. Coincounter laughs with his last remark as he returned to Aurum Vale, his large body swaying.
