I've leveled my AST and WHM to 57 and 55 respectively, never had a problem healing anything along the way, or had any mana issues. Given my love of healing I decided to do SCH (currently lvl 48) as well to round out my healing selection. And it's been.... underwhelming.
Particularly AoE healing, so far I have succor and whispering dawn, succor is 300 more MP than its equivalents and 20 less potency; whispering dawn feels weak for a 30s CD. It's also hard to reliably hit everyone with it thanks to the delay and fairy positioning.
I've found it comparatively difficult to recover from sustained group damage (Aurum Vale, eugh, never wiped in there healing until I went in with my SCH).
On top of that the fairy's embrace is just a worse version of Aspected Benefic or Regen, both of which have 50 higher potency, can be cast on multiple people, and don't need a fairy in proximity. I don't get any fairy improvements until level 76 which seems odd.
As for mana, it hasn't been the hardest thing in the world to manage, but it does feel worse than my AST/WHM. You don't get Energy drain or Aetherflow until lvl 45, it feels like it should have been lvl 40, and even with them the high MP costs combined with the weak AoE and low potencies mean I still eat through mana like nobodies business.
Keep in mind this is just my experience at relatively low levels, but so far its been striking how much worse SCH feels. Does the experience get better at higher levels? Or should I just stick with my AST/WHM if I haven't enjoyed SCH so far?
