So, I noticed something in the new trial that seemed rather off to me. There is a part after the seven "WoL" are summoned where the BLM and WHM are summoned to do an attack. They do their respective cast animations but then summon comets. At first I just thought okay its just the mechanics. But then I noticed they are dressed just a bit to similarly, specifically the hats; plus why is a WHM casting comets? Also they are the only "WoL" summoned that are both Lalafells. There are 8 playable races in the game, and with the boss representing a Hyur, each race could be represented, so why two Lalafells?

Then I saw a post on Reddit that clarified everything and makes so much sense. They are an allusion to Palom and Porom and they are using Twincast, their signature move. That explains why they have similar outfits and why they are both Lalafells. And because of that it extends to the rest of the summoned "WoL" too. The DRK is Cecil, they are even wearing the Baron helm, the Bard is Rosa, the WAR is Cid, the SMN is Rydia, and the Ninja is Edge. I mean we have so many jobs to choose from, but why choose ones that correspond to Jobs specific to the cast of FFIV.

TL : DR The "WoL" summoned in the new trial are seven characters from FFIV.

What do people think of this little allusion to the cast of FFIV? And what other little hints do you see of their character in these allusions?
