When I started xiv I never expected to be able to get into the raiding scene as much as I did, i was just enjoying the game and experiencing the story and combat aspect of it. I was being supported by the amazing community that this game had to offer and was amazed by the willingness to help newcomers and veterans alike. the main reason for that is because I am a mute irl, making coordination during fights harder for me same with expressing myself.
When I wanted to start doing extreme and savages I always had a hard time finding a static to take me because of my disability. I've been rejected by 7 different statics when I tried to apply because I am mute which hinders the whole group, While it frustrated me to no end to hear "she's mute and wouldn't fit", I do understand the consequences of not being able to talk during pulls. >.<
I was ready to give up, until I found a static with a group of people who I enjoyed with and accepted me as who I am , We were able to do ultimate and finally clear it! it was really an amazing feeling and I felt like I wanted to scream even though I wasn't able to.
I really am unable to express how huge of a milestone this was for me, I am super happy with myself and my static who helped me get this far into hardcore content. I really love each and every one of them and I hope we will be able to continue raiding together until we clear all ultimates!
