I would be grateful if the ff14 team could take a look at this.
Requests:
1. Add roots in addition to races to world settings and stories.
For example, Au Ra originally had their roots in place A during the Allagan era of the Third Astral Calendar. They escaped and dispersed to various places, living in places B, C, D, etc. B happened to be the Azim Steppe in the Seventh Astral Calendar. In fact, there are other places like C and D, which have not yet been revealed, or have not yet appeared because they have not interacted with Eorzea.
2. If 1 cannot be realized, at least make a setting like "There may be other roots that have not yet been revealed" official (please leave room for imagination in your character settings) (I would like it to be made official, not just a fantasy or just a person that I thought up.)
3. (It can be ignored) It cannot be denied that players are people from the mirror world or people who came from time travel...
Advantages:
1. Players settings will be more free.
2. Expand the possibilities for future world settings and stories.
For example,
I like the Au Ra, but I'm not happy with the setting that "their roots are in the Othard Continent (Azim Steppe)." Azim Steppe is just like Mongolia but I don’t like Mongolia.1. In the future world setting, the Au Ra could actually have roots in another area (such as an area not yet revealed on the current world map, or Meracydia in the south), meaning that the player's Au Ra could be from there. 2. If 1 cannot be realized, I would like you to at least add the official setting that "they may actually have roots in a place that has not yet been revealed."
Unlike the world maps of FF11 and other fantasy worlds, the world map of FF14 has almost as many overlapping parts with the real world map (especially the continent of Tral = America, the subcontinent of Osard = Asia, Meracidia = Australia, hingashi(kugane) = Japan, the Azim Steppe = Mongolia, Ala Mhigo = Middle East, etc.).
You might argue, "Don't associate it with reality, this is FF14, it's not real in the first place," but
FF14's world map is...too close to reality, even if you close your eyes, you'll brainwash yourself, deceive yourself, and it's painful to associate it with reality no matter what.
Especially hingashi(kugane)= Japan, Tral = America, Azim Steppe = Mongolia, etc.
