Yes, they work from home, but they are still facing the direct impacts of the pandemic in every day life, and in some cases during their work day.
This directly impacts what it's possible to get done at any given time.
We might get everything we ever wanted. Some things might get missed.
I'd also like to remind you that, as far as any development team is concerned, the FFXIV team is treated extremely humanely (What this says about the industry is a different conversation).
There are considerably less of the horror stories we see out of other teams or studios. And while this does result in a (generally) better product for what is created, it can mean that some things don't get created at all.
I, too, will feel the pain if certain things are missed, but we need to remember:
