Good morning/afternoon folks. I've been having some issues with performance in XIV lately, and I was hoping I could get some help. The issues in question are semi-frequent microstuttering and framerate drops during certain animations and/or cutscenes.
The microstuttering is the hardest to pin down, it would seem. Booting the game up and playing doesn't seem to have much issue, but alt tabbing over time seems to cause it.
The framerate drops are typically when casting skills such as Asylum and Sacred Soil, while cutscenes seems to struggle with areas that have a lot of glowing lighting objects.
Here's a list of my specs, if I've missed anything please let me know.
Lenovo Y700 Windows 10 Pro 10.0.18363 Build 18363 (64 Bit) 16 GB RAM GTX960M 4GB (Driver Version: 442.19) Intel Core i7-6700HQ @ 2.60GHz Power Plan: Maximum Performance Game is installed on the WD BLUE 1TB HDD, however I am planning to move it over to my SDD to see if that fixes the issue.
NVIDIA control panel settings: Everything default with the exception of power management set to prefer maximum performance, Triple Buffering and Vertical Sync set to On.
In game settings: Borderless Fullscreen, 100% UI scaling, no FPS limit, limit FPS while client is inactive, graphics set to Standard (Laptop).
I have disabled full screen optimizations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
