Hello everyone!
I played the free trial of FF14 till around Lv.30 and decided to try and get back into the game by buying the Collectors Edition today. I do enjoy the game but I am admittedly most interested in the Expansion content and heard that the ARR content can be a bit of an slog to get through.
I'm usually more of an casual player too and I heard you can only start Heavensward after doing all the MSQ's up to it but I did hear that ARR is not...quite the most exciting of events story and quest wise. I would also love to eventually level a second job, preferably Red Mage, before really tackling the Expansion content but with rather limited time, I'm a bit worried how long all that will take me and just how I should plan my time. I don't intend to use the Skip Potion since I heard its a really bad idea to do that atleast pre Lv.50 but wouldn't be entirely against the idea of getting it if the Quests really are that bothersome.
So basically, how long would it take to get through the MSQ up to Heavensward, is it worth reading and watching all the cutscenes (or should I just skip them) or is there a decent way to grind to Level.50 and would it be alright to get a Skip Potion then?
Don't get me wrong, I do want to enjoy the game and not rush it but I do just worry that the ARR Content isn't as fun and will burn me out before I get to the Content that I would actually enjoy.
(Apologies for the rather vague and lenghty question, I do not yet know how much time I have to play the game for now but would love to look into the Content that the Expansions bring like the Classes and the Story.)
