As a returning player just recently I've played through the Shadowbringers expansion with returning friends and newbies alike. It's rekindled my love for this game as one of their best written stories yet and some amazing music, dungeons, trials and so on. Started the Eden questline last night which is also amazing, some long ass queues but worth the wait for some fun fights and an interesting plot.
Have to say some people with that mentor crown really do not deserve it, leaving and trying to abandon after one wipe, dying on purpose and refusing res as a tank it's just embarrassing to see people act like that. Yes it's old content to you and you probably farmed the hell out of it on release for gear/have done savage or whatever but it's still new for returners and new players. I think sometimes we forget what it was like the first time we did a new raid and judge people by the standards of people who ran it hundreds of times.
Thanks to those players who stayed on when others left, joined us and helped us through learning the fight properly, tightening up on mechanics and so on. After a couple of wipes on Shiva and a miserable excuse of a tank who refused a res until it looked like we might kill it when just participating would have secured the kill he left and we got a new tank who helped us kill it first time. Thanks to the people for who that mentor crown actually means more than a quick roulette and easy rewards and those of the community who stick with a run until the end for no real reward other than helping others get clears. You're the reason this community gets such positive reviews.
