(Your Spoiler Warning, Duh.)

All right, so the story wasn't entirely bad. You could say "good but lower than the expectations of a Final Fantasy XIV narrative".

What it did right:
+ Less Wuk Lamat foolishness, she had better dialogue than before
+ Interesting twists to the story
+ Some Nostalgia to FF9 (see negatives)
+ New villain to hate
+ Linkpearl discussions were an interesting addition
+ Trial Boss was challenging

What it did wrong:
- No OMG moments that FFXIV is known for
- Wuk Lamat is better but she's not good. She should've known better to make a threat against the queen in a public area.
- Why Zelenia? Why not Beatrix? Dumb. It's like you want to make it FF9 but you don't use the names like all the other references in XIV? We have ELEVEN YEARS of referencing old FF games and calling them by their names.
- Why didn't we mark the real Sphene? A code word or something. Hell you could have given her the nickname Dagger. Calling her Sphene felt really lazy, especially when she's supposed to be hiding her identity. And there's also a doppleganger who could've easily swapped places with her at any point during the story.
- New dungeon had easily predictable bosses and offered zero challenge
- Zoraal Ja is still smarter than everyone else for some reason
- Weird villain uses a screen that everybody in Solution 9 could have seen and yet zero repercussions on everyone being able to see it and make no adjustments to their mindset. This felt like lazy man-behind-the-curtain except seen-by-literally-anyone.
- Villain is not Kuja.
- Villain is not Kuja.
- Villain is not Kuja.

Overall it was better than 7.0 but not up to par with other expansion patches.

6 out of 10 is hope for better story to come but I'm still not entirely convinced that we'll get out of this Dawntrail rut.

I did not gasp, I did not cry, I did not laugh. I just watched it happen.
