Hidden in one of the rarest field notes from the Bozjan Southern Front (belonging to Sartauvoir quo Soranus) is a reference to a country subjugated by the Garlean Empire; the Republic of Landis, home to the city of Mannatheihwo which harbors its own force of mage-knights.

"-Mannatheihwo, the only city in the republic to boast its own company of mage-knights. Though it was common practice for the Garleans to disband the knight companies of the nations it conquered and absorb them into the imperial army, their hatred of all things magical compelled them to quash the mage-knights of Mannatheihwo entirely. Fearing for their lives, these sorcerers had fled their homes and scattered across once-proud Landis. Knowing this, Legatus Gabranth set out in search of them. "

This could be FFXIV's version of the Mystic Knight. Much like with Gunbreaker, we could be learning a job from the last remaining mage-knights that went into hiding. We are going to Garlemald, afterall, so it would make sense to have a new job related to the empire in that way.

The Republic of Landis is also the homeland of Noah von Gabranth. Depending on how Bozja wraps up by the end of 5.x, we could be seeing him again in relation to a new quest involving the mage-knights in 6.0.

A knight class that wields magic would fit perfectly into the Lancer/Dragoon's light armor sets.
