[2.x] Continuing From my Lahabrea Post

Alright, so I was asked in a post I made about the Lahabrea reveal to continue on with documenting my journey through the rest of the wild journey that is this game. After taking a bit of a break due to content overload, here I am with what I have seen so far (currently up to the end of 2.1).

First off, the end of the 2.0 storyline - it was fun, though did feel a bit long at times. The first time I fought Rihtahtyn, I had my first ever wipe. It was a tough as balls fight and I enjoyed it. The Ultima Weapon fight at the end was an absolute blast and was epic as all hell. Overall the storyline for 2.0 while starting off extremely slow picks up and charges full steam ahead towards the tail end.

Next, the Crystal Tower raid - what an absolute blast. It was fun seeing what Garlemald and the Empire was up to after the end of the game. The return of...Nero, I think his name is, and seeing more of the relationship between him and Cid was cool, though I really wanted to punch him for everything he did.

The Binding Coil of Bahamut series - Dude...what can I say other than it was a blast? The fight against the being that destroyed Eoreza was sick. The Louixsoux reveal as Phoenix who I guess somewhat survived Bahamut and Project Meteor was cool but I didn't feel as much of an emotional connection as the game expected me to - probably since I never played 1.0. Alisae's introduction and her overall arc was pretty cool and I expect she and Louixsoux will be more important. Side bar: Is Louixsoux the narrator at the very beginning of the game? His voice sounds familiar.

Inspector Hildibrand questline: At first I wasn't quite sure about this questline but had already started it so I decided to follow it through. The Manderville dance scene was what did it for me. Such a humorous event and yet totally on brand for Hildibrand. Everyone is annoyed with him, yet he remains blissfully unaware of it all and I find that oddly charming. Like, he's totally doing the right thing - but damn is he a himbo LOL. And I definitely want to protect him oddly enough.

Minfilia's mother and the relocation of the Waking Sands: I really like the idea of Minfilia's mother being someone who adopted her and took her under her wing. Eorzea definitely has some undertones of racism and xenophobia (just look at the Elezen in the Twelveswood) and it's nice seeing someone of a different race adopting a Hyur and taking her under her wing. I also think the relocation of the Waking Sands was necessary as clearly the Scions would have had their actions possibly influenced by the Syndicate. While I understand Minfilia's concern, I also agree with Alphinaud - the Scions must be independent. It's what allows them to do what they do, after all.

That's all for now! I'll make a new post when I finish up the post-game 2.x patch content!
