Patch 5.4 is coming next week and that also comes with the last savage raid tier of this expansion. When you are progging any content, be it dungeon, trial, raid, ultimate raid, you will die at some time when you prog. You will want to get back into the action asap so you can help your team. But sometimes, you will raise at a bad time and it'll give your team some extra works.

If you're new to savage raiding, then I hope this post is useful for you. For the veteran raiders, you might find something useful here. I hope you will make your Healers life a lot easier.

Tip 1:

Think before you click that "Accept" button. Ask yourself, is there incoming raid wide damage? Is there incoming mechanics when I raise? If I raise now, can I do that mechanic properly without dying again? You don't want to be dying instantly as you take the res because you take raid damage when you had 5k HP or the boss just knock you off the platform as you spawned. I've seen people die 4 times back to back right after their Healers raised them up. It costs your Healers 2400 MP. Make sure they don't regret that 2400 MP.

Tip 2:

5 seconds of invincibility window. You have 5 seconds of invincibility when you raise. Do not press anything when your Healers just res you. Let them top you up and then you can continue smashing your buttons.

Tip 3:

If the upcoming mechanic requires Tank LB3, you should wait for the mechanic to go off before raising. When you don't time your raise right, you will not snapshot that LB3 buff, and of course you will die again.

Also a lot of the mechanics that require Tank LB3 will also need extra mitigations from the team. If you still intend to raise, try to raise before the Tanks use LB3 and make sure your Healers are able to top you up.

Tip 4:

If the Healers are going to use LB3, it is better for you to raise through Healer LB3 instead of normal raise. You won't get Weakness penalty for raising from Healer LB3.

Tip 4.5:

If your body is at a bad place, for example, at the death wall, on a platform that is going to disappear, you should take the raise from Healer asap because Healer LB3 will only res you up at the current position of your body, not to the Healer.

Tip 5:

When you raise, are you going to be raising inside a death zone? If you don't know what a death zone is, basically it's any area on the ground that will inflict instant death on your character. E.g. o5s ghost box, UWU titan arena. You better off waiting for the other Healer or SMN/RDM to raise you away from that death zone.

Tip 6:

If you're a Tank that just raised, try to get second agro asap. A lot of tank mechanics require both tanks to be on the top agro list, make sure you regain your agro before these mechanics. Otherwise, the boss will target the second highest agro person in the party. Best scenario is, if it is a single target mechanic, only that 1 poor soul die. Worse scenario, it's an AOE tank buster, your entire party will most likely die if everyone is unaware. Examples of this type of two-tank mechanics are: e4s Earthen Anguish (Giant titan knock back into blue marker follow by 2 tank-targeted AOE buster), e8s Akh Morn.

Tip 7:

Always keep an eye on who just cast a raise on you. Before clicking "Accept", keep an eye at the position of your character when you raise. Is it the place that you are going to raise will wipe the group? Will you be raising on top of a person who's doing strict mechanic (TEA enumeration, e8s Light Rampant)? Will your raise affect the people who are doing mechanics? Are you going raise into a ground AOE and taking it will inflict DPS down debuff, DoT damage, raid debuffs on you?

Tip 8:

Don't raise just before a transition that will put you in loading screen. Normal cutscene transition is fine. Looking at you e8s add phase :/.

Tip 9:

If the upcoming mechanics require your participation, raise asap. It's better for you to die again than wiping the group. It's for prog sake!

Tip 10:

Your group can chain raise to see the next mechanics. If you've got used to the invincibility 5s window, to help your team see the extra 5 seconds of the raid, you can time raise so the game won't reset the raid. Example clip.
